Wireless Ethernet (Wi-Fi)

Can this kind of device work in hostile industrial environment ?
Yes, the spectrum spreading technology had been developped initially for military use and is very robust face to interferences. We have realized a large number of industrial installations in very perturbed environments : XI1510 wireless access point next to steel industry furnace, travelling cranes, cranes embedded systems, lorries, etc.

Must we pay an annual rental for using wireless networks ?
No, the wireless network standard IEEE802.11 are rental free. It operates on the 2.4GHz band which is used worldwide. In France, relatively to the rest of Europe, its regulation was restricted comparing to the european one, but since july 2003, the French Communication Regulation Authority (ARCEP) has given more flexibity for its utilization. For all information regarding the latest provisions in force of the standard and legislation in France, visit the ARCEP website.
